Breath by Breath the Liberating Practice of Insight Meditation

I used to think being stressed and lying awake with my mind racing was a normal part of life.

Surely everyone else was as miserable as I was, right? When I decided to talk with a friend about my feelings, she recommended meditation, insisting many people find comfort and a sense of peace through it.

But when I first started researching meditation I wasn't sure where to start. In my search for answers, I happened upon Breath by Breath The Liberating Practice of Insight Meditation by Larry Rosenberg. It has been a guide to me ever since.

With it, I have learned the art of insight meditation, which is an elaboration upon breathing meditation, using the Anapanasati Sutra as anciently held to be taught by the Buddha himself.

I've enjoyed this particular book and the meditation it teaches because it's not overwhelming to me as a beginner. It approaches the subject of meditation in depth to help better my understanding of the practice and its beautiful history.

Through meditation, I have been able to experience a new sense of calm and happiness, something I had been missing for many years, which has allowed me to approach life more mindfully and compassionately. I would highly recommend this form of meditation to all students of the art, from beginner to advanced.

I would rate this particular book 10 out of 10!
