Cobra Pose

My favorite yoga pose is the Cobra pose. I usually do the Cobra after an hour of cardio, kickboxing and weight training. I find it relaxes my sore muscles, which have been pushed to their limits during my cardio routine.
It was the first yoga pose that got me a compliment on the flexibility in my back. So maybe that's why I first started liking it. But now I can say I just enjoy the feeling I get when my back is being stretched. It is a position I can stay in for a long time because it doesn't cause too much stress or strain on your muscles.
To get into the position you lie on your stomach, and bring your upper body up by straightening your arms (this gives your back a curved look). It's really very simple and a basic move.
One tip. Also raise your chin up at an angle (eyes to the ceiling). I presume to get a better overall stretch. I would think people of all ages could do this pose. Especially as you doesn't have to totally straighten your arms if you feel your back is too uncomfortable. So it can be modified if need be.
Enjoy!
