Getting in the Gap by Dr. Wayne Dyer

by Jayne
(Florida)

The book “Getting in the Gap” by Dr. Wayne Dyer first introduced me to meditation. Before this book, I think I had meditation all wrong. I would let myself get distracted by trying not to let myself get distracted! And I didn’t understand the concept of breathing, visualization and allowing until I read Dr. Wayne Dyer’s book.

It came with a guided meditation CD which uses the Lord’s Prayer as a meditation tool. It also has a simple Japa meditation that uses imagery and related the word “Ah” to all the gods because of the vowel, “God, Allah, Krishna, Brahma, etc.”

Wayne Dyer himself takes you through the CD’s and his voice is as soothing to me as Morgan Freeman’s. He was made to create meditation CDs and I recommend “Getting in the Gap” for people frustrated with meditation in general or looking to start their hand at meditation.

For people that respond well to imagery, these meditations will particularly help by quieting your mind and keeping it gently focused. After I used this book and CD to wrangle my thoughts and bring myself to a place of peace, I realized that over time it was actually working.

Great book and great subject. Score 9/10
