How I Deal with Stress

How do I deal with Stress? It's been a major issue for me in every day life.

For a long time I let stress rule my life and I learned it can make me physically ill. I realized then that I had to find a way to cope with stressful situations as they arise.

I have a daughter who can be very demanding at times. One night while I was giving her a bath she was talking back really bad and I had all I could take. My day at work had been awful with everything going wrong that could. The stress from this situation got so bad I just felt like screaming at her. Instead I remember my mom told me that deep breathing would help when I get really upset or frustrated.

So now when I feel myself getting upset or frustrated the first thing I do is step back and find a quiet place. I sit down or stand and start breathing in really deep and then exhaling slowly. I repeat this process ten times and I have to say that it works to calm me down every time. It surely worked well that night with my daughter!

I would recommend the deep breathing technique for anyone who finds themselves stressed to the point that they start taking it out on others.
