How Your Mind Can Keep You Well

The meditation book I liked the most is How your mind can keep you well by Roy Masters. Actually this book has done wonders in my life. It was presented to me by a friend and it depicts a very interesting and ancient meditation through which the conscious mind becomes able to control the subconscious mind. Its a simple meditation process which requires only 10 minutes daily, but the results obtained through it are tremendous.

The main idea is to be aware of the thought patterns through the point between the eyebrows. The position of the third eye of knowledge. Even though it may sound simple, lots of benefits occur, through constant practice. I liked the process very much because its so simple but effective. I was able to be aware of the various thought patterns occurring inside me and thereby got great control over my emotions.

Meditation Benefits

Through the meditation both my mental and physical health improved. I became more cheerful person and got great confidence in myself and life. It gave me some subtle experiences and showed me that there is something beyond this small life as a human being. It convinced me that there is a bigger self in all human beings than what is perceived. It broadened my vision and helped me to get out from my small ego.

It will lead us to a point in self realization, where one will really pray to God from the heart for others who are suffering. On doing this mediation we will come to know that we are in fact governed by many forces beyond our will. These chains, these controlling forces will loosen up through the constant practice of this meditation and we will once again be in total control of both our conscious and unconscious mind.

The only defect I noticed in the book is a warning given in it that if we miss this meditation even, for a single day, after starting it we will fall back for ever. Avoiding this point alone, everything else is great, and I would recommend it to any person who is really needing a change and who wants to be in total control of himself.
