Meditation Stool3 Ways To Choose The BestDo meditation stools make you a better meditator? For many people the answer is yes - especially if you (like myself) aren't flexible enough for the lotus position. If you get the right stool you'll sit in the correct meditation posture
Then you'll breathe better. Be more alert when you meditate- and have a calm mind. I've found doing the easy meditation techniques with my posture right makes them much more effective.... But how do you choose the right meditation stool? Here's 3 ways....... 1. Get The Angle RightWhen you meditate your pelvis should be tilted forward. This lets your back take on that natural S shape - so your weight is spread evenly. Can you be tilted to far? Yes....if the angle is too big you'll end up overarching your spine - and getting backache. With too small an angle you'll slump into a C shape. This puts a lot of pressure on the vertebrae at the bottom of the spine and .......You guessed it- leads to backache. So ...... either Experiment with different stools. Try them out over 15 minutes if you can. Your local meditation class will have lots you can try out... Or Get an adjustable stool. These are more expensive but you can change the angle until its just right.... 2. Get A More Portable Meditation Stool?Do you meditate in different places? Do you go to a class? Do you like to meditate on holiday? If the answer to any of these is yes.....you'll need to think about portability. I can say from experience a solid wood stool with fixed legs is not easy to stuff into a rucksack! But don't worry there are lots of folding meditation stools...Yes they are more expensive. Speaking of which.... 3. Get The Price RightYou don't need to spend a lot on a stool...but you can quiet easily. I still use a simple solid wood stool - despite the problems getting it into my rucksack! This cost me $30. But if you want something more versatile... if you want to alter the kneeling angle or height. If want want more styling.... Then you'll pay a lot more. I'd recommend going for the cheapest that fits your needs.... Meditation Cushion or Stool - What's Your Favourite?
Write Your Own ReviewAll meditators have a preference. Some like to sit in a chair. Some kneel on a stool. The more flexible sit in the lotus position supported by a Zafu.I'd like to know about the products you use to help you sit better. Do you have a solid wooden meditation stool or a fancy fold-up fully adjustable one? Do you like a firm Zafu or a big plump cushion. Or maybe you use memory foam? Whatever it is I'd like to know why you use it. Why you prefer your product over the alternatives. All entries will be published as a web-page. The best will be featured on the homepage. If you include the brand name and price of your product I can compile a directory of meditation stools, cushions and zafus so readers can choose the best.
