Mere Christianity

My favorite meditation book would have to be Mere Christianity by CS Lewis. You may think that this is an odd selection for a meditation book. But at least for me it fits the bill.
Not only are there deep philosophical thoughts on religion (Christianity specifically, obviously). But it also encourages readers to meditate and think on what they've just read. When dealing with a topic as complex as religion books can often lose readers with long drawn-out arguments. Or with difficult points made matter of factly without proper justification.
Mere Christianity does neither of these things. It present its ideas clearly. With logical step-by-step arguments. Personally I found this approach easy to pick up and get involved in. My time spent in meditation and prayer with God began to take shape on a more consistent basis.
Again perhaps some don't view prayer as meditation. But I found this practice relaxing and internally meaningful. Because of the perspective I've gained with this book I am less stressed. My actions and words more intentional. And my inner peace more sound and complete.
I would certainly recommend this to anyone who wants to meditate on religion in a simple and logical way.
