How I Used Meditation To Reduce Life Event Stress. Obsessive Worry ThoughtsAfter the loss of my loved one I used to obsess about the person. How tragic the loss was. I'd constantly think about the person being able to walk and breath and laugh around me again.I used a concentration meditation. You concentrate on a symbol, a sound or mantra. Or even just on breathing. Tuning out all other thoughts. Tuning out other thoughts requires no effort since it will be natural result of the meditation practice and how focused the mind is. The effects of meditation on stress can provide immediate relief. It makes me realize how a lot of suffering is a result of my own perceptions and obsessions. And how important it is to examine our thoughts before they turn into obsessions, depression and suffering.
