Savasana or the Corpse pose

Yoga is always the best way to rejuvenate your body and also increase your mental strength. There are many pose in yoga but my favourite is Savasana or the Corpse pose.

This asana is generally used before starting and after concluding a yoga session. It is very simple pose which doesn't require great deal of the practice.

Also this asana is the first step for the beginners in the yoga. It is one of the simplest ways to relax your body, mind and spirit. It helps to reduce mental depression, stress and tension.

Pranayama

Its best to start with pranayama (a kind of breath meditation). If you miss this you tend to fall sleep or feel drowsy as the pose is very related to the posture of sleeping.

Performing The Corpse Pose

Performing this exercise is very simple. First, find a very quiet and clean place so the environment is conducive for the practice of the yoga. Secondly, lie down on your back with your legs spread slightly apart from each other and close your eyes. Thirdly, take a deep breath and make your body tight and stiff and try to feel every part of your body. After few seconds exhale and try to relax your body. Stay in the pose for several minutes.

This yoga should not be used for meditation purpose because one may fall asleep. It can only be used for the relaxation purpose.
