Still the Mind by Alan Watts

When I discovered Still the Mind by Alan Watts I ultimately found out what meditation is all about.
Alan Watts discusses what the process of thought does to the human mind and consciousness. He emphasizes the importance of quieting the mind of all thought and simply being. He discusses the destruction that thought can produce within the human mind.
This book has been such an inspiration to me. It has truly helped me understand what meditation truly is. And it has helped me quiet my mind in each and every meditation session that I practice.
The thoughts portrayed in this book are all thoughts that I feel like I have had. But I have not put them into words yet myself. With the knowledge that I have absorbed from this book I have been able to live a very still and stable existence.
This has brought me tremendous happiness because I realize how simple it is to bring happiness to my world now through quieting my thoughts. I have been able to pass this information along to my family. And Alan Watts has a way to bring the concept of meditation across without being threatening but rather being very real and inspiring about it.
Alan Watts inspires me to practice quieting my mind everyday. His words are truly an inspiration and I would highly recommend this reading to anyone who is questioning their meditation practices.
