symptoms anxiety attack

Do you get anxious? You're not alone ..... Anxiety is incredibly common in our modern society.

Maybe you have a vague feeling of uneasiness through the day - without knowing why. Or you might experience the symptoms of a mild anxiety attack.

You can use these easy meditation techniques to reduce anxiety..... their very effective.

It helps to have a regular practice . But you can just use these techniques when you feel anxious. They'll still work.

Here's 4 ways to reduce the symptoms of a mild anxiety attack...

1. Breathing Meditation

Do this when you start to feel anxious....

Bring your attention to your breathing. It's best to watch the breath in the lower belly. Just notice the way your belly pushes out and in with each breath. Do this for a few seconds...

Then start to count....from 1 to 10. Count on each out breath.

So watch your belly push out (in-breath). Then watch it fall back (out-breath). Count 1. Repeat. Count 2.

Loose count? Just return to the start again. Disturbing thoughts? Just come back to counting your breath.

2. Body scan Meditation

You might not feel comfortable focusing on your breath. Then its better to pay attention to your body. Usually your hands or feet.

So when you're anxious....

Close your eyes if you can. Bring your attention to your left hand. Notice how its feels. Is it warm? Cold? What else do you notice?

Distracted by thoughts? Just come back to your left hand.

Continue for 2 minutes if you can....

3. Walking Meditation

Sometimes you're too anxious to sit still. Then use walking meditation. Just bring your attention to your walking. Follow the movement of your legs. There's no need to walk more slowly. And no need to look at your feet. Just look ahead as usual.
