Vajrasana

My favourite yoga posture is Vajrasana or Zen Position . It is also sometimes called the Diamond Pose (I think this may be the literal translation of Vajrasana).

I've been told the posture radiates blood supply and energy into the upper body. I think for people who are not regular practitioners of yoga (like me). Or have a rigid body. This position is the simplest and easiest. It allows you stay in one position for long time. So it's been my favourite for sometime.

It's good for those looking for a yoga pose to meditate in. (I normally don't practice meditation but sometimes I try yoga postures for body and mind relaxation).

Its also handy for modern lifestyles as you can practice it anywhere. I sit in this position in my office even while working at my desk!

I have stomach and digestion problems and Vajrasana helps in improving the digestion system. Also I often feel pain in my calf-muscles. Probably because of sitting a lot at work and when travelling. But this helps my calves as well. So this Zen Position or Vajrasana really sorts out my two most annoying problems.

Actually I think these are lifestyle diseases and no medication is required. Some yoga postures like this one help us in getting our body system back to normal which has gone out of balance due to modern-lifestyles.
