Video Game Therapy

How I Use Video Games for Stress Therapy.

It was one of those days.

I had just bombed my calculus test. I got into an argument with a friend at school, and my parents were on my case about something or other.

To top it all off, I had to go to calculus practice in another couple of hours.

I just wasn't feeling it. I wanted to get away for a couple of hours, if not the rest of the day. So, I put in my favorite fighting game, "Virtua Fighter 5."

It just felt like nothing bad had ever happened. Each time I beat up an opponent, I felt a little bit happier than before. Don't get me wrong, I'm not violent. It's just that satisfaction of being able to imagine all your frustrations go down with your enemy when you win.

After a while, I wasn't even stressed out about practice or the calculus test, instead I turned on my stereo and began to listen to my favorite band while playing the game.

Since I was so into my game, I lost all track of time; before I knew it my cd had finished and it was time for practice. At the end of the day, I wasn't worried about the bad stuff that happened, because I could just take it down in my favorite video game.

This my favorite way to relieve stress, I would recommend that everyone try it at least once.

I've always wanted to do a study- who relieves more stress more efficiently? People that light candles? Or people that come home to a good game (any variety).
